*The project will be taking a break from our regular meetings from 24th December until 4th January for the holidays.

*Patches for master are merging and the builds are looking greener, there is a problem with the test result regression reports still causing failures as well as some check-layer issues.
*YP 5.0.21 is under review
*Linux kernel 6.18 recipes are now available for testing but aren’t the default yet. Issues in OE-core are mostly resolved with some issues remaining for other layers. Wider testing is welcome as this will be the LTS kernel.
*Patches for 6.2 have started merging into master
*Linux-libc-headers was also updated to 6.18, the 6.17 recipes were removed and 6.16 and 6.12 saw point release upgrades.
*Reproducibility issues between different build archs is looking much better, we have remaining issues in systemtap, rust, rpm-sequoia, mesa and rpm.
*Support for symlinking existing local repos with bitbake-setup has merged. There is ongoing work to simplify using a common hashequiv instance and sstate.
*There are issues where we could accept help:
*We have isolated the Fedora43 workers until we can root cause the binary problems it was causing when the sstate was shared to older systems

*The project is exploring the idea of applying for funding for security related work. If anyone (individual or consultancies) has ideas, please talk to Paul/Richard/TSC. This is an opportunity to work on those issues you never have time/funding for!
**Remaining github.com references in bitbake-selftest
*We will be entirely disabling the npm fetcher in bitbake due to the security issues until those are resolved (https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16105).
*We will update rsync to v3.5.1 on scarthgap & wrynose. This is an exception to the usual process as the backported CVE patches were not reviewable or maintainable.

Key Status/Updates:

  • YP 6.1 is due for release
  • YP 6.0.4 is due for release
  • YP 5.0.21 is under review
  • Patches for 6.2 have started merging into master
  • Reproducibility issues between different build archs is looking much better, we have remaining issues in systemtap, rust, rpm-sequoia, mesa and rpm.
  • There are issues where we could accept help:
