*YP 4.0.22 was released
*YP 6.0.3 is in QA.
*The new autobuilder cluster (valkyrie) is up and running and all work is being done there. The old cluster is being shut down.
*YP 6.1 M3 is due in one week and this will be the feature freeze point for YP 6.1.
*The CDN and mirror tests are now working reliably and we are getting green builds again. Huge thanks to Michael Halstead for the work being done, mostly behind the scenes.
*For 6.1 M3 our plans are to merge rpm 6, merge openssl 4 and update to the 7.2 kernel. If there are any other major changes planned, please let us know ASAP!
*Progress has been made on many of the blocking intermittent issues on the new autobuilder but many rarer issues remain.
*AI scrapers and bots continue to impact the infrastructure, taking huge amounts of time for our sysadmins and with a significant cost impact to the project.
*Rust tests on the MIPS architecture have been disabled as nobody is using/supporting it.
*We continue to try and keep up to date with upstream releases through the AUH, big thanks to those sending version updates and fixing version update issues. It is worth noting that the ‘success’ updates do still need work on the commit message changelogs and much of this work is being pushed to Richard.
*Toaster test suite improvements have merged but more work really needs to be done there to improve some of the test conditions.

*The UKI (Unified Kernel Images) series finally merged with tests, which will help ensure the code keeps working in the future.
**aarch64/x86-64 build host contamination/reproducibility issue
*We’re seeing a pattern of people submitting patches to master when they’ve only tested them against older releases. In several cases the issue wasn’t even present there. Please don’t do this, it wastes a lot of time. If you see the issue against an older release, please make that clear.
We get a lot of comments about these being hard to reproduce or work on, in both cases, these have specific well defined things which need to be done and a basic understanding of what the issue relates to, if not the actual fix.
*For 5.2 it would be helpful to have rough development plans for areas of the project if anyone is able to help document a rough roadmap/plan for them. The following areas are known to be being or need working on:

These components include: devtool, toaster, wic, oeqa, autobuilder, CROPs containers, pseudo and more. Many have open bugs. Help is welcome in trying to better look after these components!

Key Status/Updates:

  • YP 6.0.3 is in QA.
  • YP 6.1 M3 is due in one week and this will be the feature freeze point for YP 6.1.
  • For 6.1 M3 our plans are to merge rpm 6, merge openssl 4 and update to the 7.2 kernel. If there are any other major changes planned, please let us know ASAP!
