*There is a patch to improve the way the *FLAGS variables operate. It is possible this may change behavior in some corner cases but the usability improvements mean we’re likely to merge the patch and address any issues that arise.

*YP 2.6.1 is out of QA and the QA results are being reviewed. See: https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/WW02_-_2019-01-09_-_Full_Test_Cycle_2.6.1_RC1
*As people are likely aware, the project has a number of components which are either unmaintained, or have people with little to no time trying to keep them alive. These components include: devtool, toaster, wic, oeqa, autobuilder, CROPs containers, pseudo and more. Many have open bugs. Help is welcome in trying to better look after these components!
*We have preliminary patches for the qemuarm migration to an armv7 machine. These haven’t passed testing and will need some improvements, particularly in the area of graphics support so will be deferred to M3 but it is great to see progress being made.

*The qemu virtgl patchset is also making great progress in review/development but will also be deferred to M3.

*We are now running the build performance tests as part of our standard autobuilder which is a further step towards streamlining our testing and release process. *We’d welcome new maintainers for recipes in OE-Core. Please see the list at: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/tree/meta/conf/distro/include/maintainers.inc and discuss with the existing maintainer, or ask on the OE-Core mailing list. We will likely move a chunk of these to “Unassigned” soon to help facilitate this.
*The perl changes which landed last week seem to have mostly been ok, there have been some race issues and we’re grateful to Alex and the perl-cross upstream for their fast turnaround on those.
*Help is very much welcome in trying to resolve our autobuilder intermittent issues. You can see the list of failures we’re continuing to see by searching for the “AB-INT” tag in bugzilla: https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=AB-INT.
*Further fixes for the gitsm fetcher landed but there are still reports of issues. We continue to try and find ways to expand our test case matrix so we can fix the issues *and* ensure we don’t regress.

*The latest round of updates from the AUH were sent out. Some have responded to this and sent in upgrades, many have not. If you are listed as a maintainer, please help us keep recipes up to date!

Key Status/Updates:

  • YP 4.0.19 and YP 5.1 M1 were released
  • YP 5.0.2 was built and is entering QA.
  • There were some great patch status cleanups, thanks Alexander (will show in next week’s metrics)
  • There is a patch to improve the way the *FLAGS variables operate. It is possible this may change behavior in some corner cases but the usability improvements mean we’re likely to merge the patch and address any issues that arise.
