*We switched to the 6.1 kernel by default for M2. Unfortunately there are a couple of intermittent issues that seem to have crept in. One is a reproducibility issue in perf, likely with some host component causing it as it only occurs on second builds. The second appears to be an intermittent networking issue accessing a python http-server for testing dnf which appeared after the kernel version change.

Key Status/Updates:

  • YP 6.0 was released, thanks everyone who contributed!
  • YP 5.0.18 is in QA.
  • We’re working through the backlog of patches, the bandwidth for changes needing in depth review/feedback continues to be a challenge.
  • Intermittent build failures continue to be problematic:
    • several qemu ‘hang’ type issues
    • sometimes yocto-check-layer is showing checksum mismatch issues
    • siggen reset issues (“ResourceWarning: unclosed transport”)
    • groff build race issues
    • intermittent ptest failures in many recipes
