*We are now 4 weeks from feature freeze for 5.2

*Patch flow has continued normally, many good fixes, some upgrades and kernel stable updates were merged.
*Updates to the 6.16 kernel are pending before the 5.3 M3 build
*Issues were identified in gomod mirror handling which means the autobuilder meta-oe mirroring target now continually fails. We need to find a solution to this issue ASAP. The alternative is we drop meta-oe mirroring.
*We aim to merge bitbake-setup before building 5.3 M3
*We plan to merge b4 configuration file support, thanks Quentin.
*This change will mean “poky” as a combo-layer repository will no longer be needed or updated. This means autobuilder changes before we build 5.3 M3.
*Due to issues with newer glibc and issues with the valgrind upgrade, we will drop valgrind ptest support since nobody can maintain it.
*Patch merging is continuing as long as the risk for the changes are low
*Toolchain selection via virtual recipe specific providers was merged

*The binutils upgrade removes gold linker support so that will be removed from core.

Key Status/Updates:

  • YP 5.2.3 is due to be released.
  • YP 5.0.12 is due to be released.
  • YP 5.3 M3 is due to build soon
  • We’re at feature freeze for YP 5.3
