'''Key Status/Updates:'''<br/>
*Feature freeze for YP 5.1 is now 3 weeks away!
*YP 5.2.3 is due to be released.
*YP 5.1 M2 was released (unfortunately with autobuilder failures)
*YP 5.0.12 is due to be released.
*A document giving a brief overview of the Yocto Project Autobuilder/Infrastructure has been shared: https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/images/0/04/Yocto_Project_Autobuilder.pdf
*YP 5.3 M3 is due to build soon
*Autobuilder intermittent issues continue to cause concern but we have few people able to work on them.
*We’re at feature freeze for YP 5.3
*The new mesa version requires meta-clang for the intel drivers. We need to make a decision on how to handle this, clang is likely to make its way to core at some point but work is needed to make the overrides suitable for core before that can happen.
*Updates to the 6.16 kernel are pending before the 5.3 M3 build
*The patch review backlog continues to reduce with only a small number of patches still pending feedback.
*We aim to merge bitbake-setup before building 5.3 M3
*A new round of upgrades has been merged and the AUH successfully handled recipes with multiple variants like qemu this time, thanks AlexK! Upgrades included binutils, qemu, libtool, linux-libc-headers and many more.
*This change will mean “poky” as a combo-layer repository will no longer be needed or updated. This means autobuilder changes before we build 5.3 M3.
*A new kernel 6.10 recipe is nearly ready, thanks Bruce!
*Patch merging is continuing as long as the risk for the changes are low
*do_package_qa is now enabled for nativesdk recipes in our automated testing
*There are a couple of open Yocto Project positions which we’re in the process of advertising:
*The autobuilder has had improvements on space detection to try and resolve build failures. A further plan is detailed in a new enhancement bug but needs resourcing: https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15569
**Ecosystem Engineering and Operations Lead
*An interesting fix for performance with large numbers of layers and multiconfigs merged in bitbake, thanks Robert!
**LTS Maintainer  - Steve Sakoman is retiring in April 2026 (full details pending)

*As people are likely aware, the project has a number of components which are either unmaintained, or have people with little to no time trying to keep them alive. These components include: devtool, toaster, wic, oeqa, autobuilder, CROPs containers, pseudo and more. Many have open bugs. Help is welcome in trying to better look after these components!

*There is an issue open upstream with the openssl project related to making path relocation of openssl easier (as used in our buildtools tarball and SDK). We’d love assistance in moving this forward and getting some kind of upstream feature merged to make this easier: https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/19260

*We’d welcome new maintainers for recipes in OE-Core. Please see the list at: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/tree/meta/conf/distro/include/maintainers.inc and discuss with the existing maintainer, or ask on the OE-Core mailing list. We will likely move a chunk of these to “Unassigned” soon to help facilitate this.

*Help is very much welcome in trying to resolve our autobuilder intermittent issues. You can see the list of failures we’re continuing to see by searching for the “AB-INT” tag in bugzilla: https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=AB-INT.
