I joined Ericsson (temporarily known as ST-Ericsson) as a software developer right after I finished my studies in 2008. Initially implementing proprietary code on our modem platforms, I soon joined the emerging Linux team within Ericsson, later moving on to Android Framework Development. This was my way into Open Source Software practices. Nowadays, Open Source is certainly the key to software quality and productivity, despite the challenge that it brings towards the old commercial software approach. The high demand for Open Source adaptation in order to catch up with the required development pace of the highly competitive mobile industry, together with the legal risk that implies such use, created the position that kept me busy from 2010 to 2013, Open Source Software Analyst. I have managed all sort of technical and legal issues coming from Open Source practices, from dealing with worried customers to providing seminars about Open Source licensing models and intellectual property in different countries. I have recently joined Enea within the Product Marketing team, and I am very interested in becoming an active member of the Yocto Community.
