Configuration management expert Period: December 2013 - February 2014 (2 months) Company and location: EuroTesting, BUCURESTI Job domain / occupation: IT / Telecom I evaluated client (Vodafone) deployment system into UAT environment: I identified the problems and proposed an automated solution. I evaluated Nolio, and proposed a combined solution using Jenkins, Nexus, and Nagios tools. Also I proposed implementing Lean Six Sigma technique '5S' to cleanup the documentation and migrate it from drive storage to an Wiki system. I was involved in M-Pesa project: creating testing environments and provide expertise on SSL certificates.

Team leader: Continuous Integration & Delivery Period: May 2010 - November 2013 (3 years and 6 months) Company and location: AXWAY ROMANIA SRL, BUCURESTI Job domain / occupation: IT / Telecom My team was responsible for the implementation of the Enterprise Continuous Delivery solution. It started as an Enterprise Continuous Integration (ECI) solution and was extended to include delivery too. Over 20 projects were involved and building one version of on solution results in over 12 GB of artifacts in different sites: Bucharest, Sofia, Noida, Paris, Annecy, Phoenix, Berlin. We manage the Jenkins and Artifactory servers from each site; Artifactories are synchronized and complete solution can be build in any site at any moment automatically. We manage over 80 build machines (unix and windows, half of them are virtualized using VMware) and over 800 Jenkins jobs. I implemented several Artifactory plugins (in Groovy) to extend the functionality. I participate in planning sessions for ECI project in project board as expert and team leader. I am single point of contact for ECI infrastructure. I allocate and monitor implementation of support requests from development teams, related to Enterprise Continuous Integration infrastructure and implementations. I planned and monitored team activities, involved in recruitment process and team members evaluations. My expertise is requested from the development teams to help them on integration with the ECI infrastructure. Here we help projects to adopt new standards, tools, and enforce build and delivery polices. We implemented automated monitoring for projects code: language violations, code standards, and security violations. I act as internal trainer for Continuous Integration concepts and tools, and Agile methodologies. Tools: Artifactory/Nexus, Jenkins/Hudson, VMWare, maven, ant, make, bash, nagios.

Operations Manager Period: September 2009 - May 2010 (8 months) Company and location: Storming media, BUCURESTI Job domain / occupation: IT / Telecom As operations manager I reorganized and grow the Bucharest team. I supervised the production infrastructure migration which was stabilized. I added new monitoring system and automated recovery from crashes, so production downtime became insignificant: less than one minute per incident and less than one incident per week. We served over 200.000 unique visitors per hour. I manage the software R&D office and the US production servers laboratory. My team had 5 software developers, and 2 unix administrators. I was responsible for recruiting team members, dispatch the tasks and monitoring the implementation. I was responsible for performance evaluation. Storming Media has several websites with high-traffic (some with over 200.000 hits/hour: www.patentstorm.us, www.legistorm.com, www.stormingmedia.com). I had to build a software team, setup new office, hire new employees and new content team (for www.legistorm.com content). New feature were implemented; also the code deployment to production is automated. We implemented automated monitoring system and automated recovery system for production environment. I implemented a VOIP phone system. We stabilize the production servers and migrate to Apache from LiteSpeed. We added Nagios monitoring system. Technologies used: Litespeed balancer, Apache webservers, Postgres/Mysql DB servers, XEN Virtualization, Asterisk phonesystem. Technologies: linux, xen, postgresql, mysql, php, jmeter, nagios, asterisk.

Rompetrol Oil project: 2 phases - 9 months. I analyzed the requirements and I implemented several end-to-end system testing scenarios according to client specifications. New QTP library implementation was needed; I wrote over 100 testing scripts to accomplish the requirements. Technologies used: QC (Quality Center), and QTP (QuickTest Professional), MSSQL, Oracle. BCR (Erste Bank): 1 month (between Rompetrol phases) I analyzed the requirements, created the scenarios and test cases; I created the input data and the needed QTP functions. I setup client Quality Center to work with our testing library. Banca Romaneasca (part of NBG): 2 weeks proof-of-concept project I analyzed the requirements, created the proof-of-concept scenario and test cases; I created the input data and the needed QTP functions. I setup client Quality Center to work with our testing library and run the demo (it was a succes).

I developed and maintain the build system using bash and InstallShield: the build system was fully automated, and generated reports and notifications. I added a continuous integration system based on CruiseControl. I customized Bugzilla and integrate it with automated build system to generate automated bug reports. I enforced automated installation adoption, followed by automated testing. I managed the product releases: generation, builds storage. As a QA engineer (first 6 months) I did manual testing of Blazent products: mainly the webserver and unix agents. As personal improvements, I implemented automated installation for all products; the manual installation took about 4 hours of each QA engineer time, and occurs several times week. I implemented a smoke test to verify the installation and check all reports availability: over 200 reported were checked automated. I tested CodeWarrior on Windows, Solaris, Linux hosts and embedded targets. Also I tested on Linux embedded environments. I run manual and automated test cases (using TCL). I setup embedded environments, install products on hosts and setuo the boards. I configured and build manually the Board Support Packages - BSP - for Linux embedded: selecting and configuring the kernel, needed drivers for specific boards and the packages that will be included in filesystem. I tested the Linux kernel deployment system from CodeWarrior to embedded boards, debug the bootloader (u-boot), debug the linux kernel and filesystem applications.
